Snowy Lakeside Hotel, Bulgaria
This interesting hotel overlooks a nearby lake, snow-covered when we visted Bulgaria in the depths of winter. Discovered purely by chance, after taking a wrong turn while in search of other lost places. This Snowy Lakeside Hotel closed sometime around 2010, and is remarkably in untouched condition.
This hotel is part of a ski resort, with the rest of the site being active with several hotels and lodges still operating. There are 120 bedrooms, the beds still neatly made and small CRT televisions sit covered with dust. Glasses still wrapped in plastic stand next to the television, unopened for over half a decade.
The Snowy Lakeside Hotel has many leisure facilities, including a sauna and a large disco in a separate building. The main dining room is bright and airy, with fabric ceiling drapes. This room could seat around 140 guests. There is also an outside terrace bar and bbq area on the first floor, offering panoramic views of the lake. On the ground floor is another bar, decorated with ceiling drapes
