Shipping options – free vs express
WHERE DO I SHIP YOUR ORDER FROM?
Books, zines, greeting cards, postcards and calendars
Books, zines, greeting cards, postcards and calendars orders will ship from the United Kingdom. Additionally, small prints bundled with books (or ordered at the same time as books) will also ship from the UK. See below for details on how these orders will ship to Europe after 1st July 2021, for my current method of handling VAT import charges.
Alternatively, if you purchase my books/zines/cards/calendars through my Etsy Store. This will allow you to pay the VAT during the Etsy check-out process via their marketplace system. This way, you can be sure that your item will arrive quickly and with no surprise costs.
prints, framed prints & metal prints
My prints, including framed and metal prints, will be created by one of several professional photo lab partners. At present, these are located in; UK, USA, Australia, The Netherlands or China. I will select the best option for you based on your shipping address, to enable more timely delivery and hopefully avoid customs/VAT fees associated with the export/import of goods between countries.
If info sheets or signatures are required for a large print, please contact me so we can arrange this.
DELIVERY TO EUROPE AND THE EU AFTER 1ST JULY 2021 (BREXIT CHANGES)
From 1st July, all goods entering the EU will be subject to VAT (charged at the rate for the member state the goods are arriving at). For small businesses, like me, this has meant changes in how we do business with Europe. My goal was to keep my site as “what you see is what you pay”, but for the short term, this is not always possible.
I have the following protocol in place at the moment, but I am constantly looking to improve this to make everything smoother;
- Books, zines, greeting cards, postcards and calendars will still be dispatched from the UK; at the moment, this cannot be avoided. When the goods arrive in the EU from UK, you may have to pay VAT (at your country’s rate) as well as a handling fee from your postal service.
- Alternatively, if you are outside of the UK you have the option to purchase my books/zines/cards/calendars through my Etsy Store. Another option is if you have an eBay account, contact me and I can arrange payment via eBay for you. Both of these methods will allow you to pay the VAT during the check-out process via these marketplace systems. This way, you can be sure that your item will arrive quickly and with no surprise costs.
- Larger prints, framed prints and metal prints will be created in one of my professional partner photo labs. Currently these labs are located in The Netherlands and Germany. As the goods are not being imported into the EU, there will be no VAT or additional fees for you.
This may change in the future, as more shipping options become available for trading with EU member states.
Delivery to USA (USA Trade Tariffs August 2025)
- Happily, many of my items are exempt from USA trade tariffs!
- All USA orders shipped by me will be sent Delivery Duties Paid (DDP). If additional tariff/import fees are due, these are included in the price (in US$) that you pay. Using this method, your item will arrive with no surprise costs.
- Larger prints, framed prints and metal prints will be created in one of my professional partner photo labs in the USA. As the goods are not being imported into the USA, there will be no tariff payments or additional fees for you.
Shipping options – Free vs Express
- All items are sent with adequate insurance; standard free shipping does not include tracking
- If tracking is required, please select Express shipping options at checkout.

Order Processing Time
Books, zines, greeting cards, postcards and calendars
- After payment, I will aim to process your order within 1-3 working days.
Prints, framed prints, metal prints
- After payment, I will send your print order to one of my printer partners within 1-3 working days. Your order will then be printed; the typical turnaround time is 1-4 days to create and package your artwork.
Despatch Confirmation
I will update you when your order is dispatched and issue tracking information (if applicable). You will recieve an automated email titled “Order Completed” when your order has been shipped by myself/my printer partners.
Delivery times
Here are estimates for my current delivery times. Please note, these do not include the 1-3 days processing time outlined above.

- UK – Free shipping 2-5 days, Express shipping 1-3 days
- International – Free shipping 7-12 days, Express shipping 3-7 days

Customs fees
- Sometimes, customs fees can be applied when the item enters your country.
- If these are applied, the buyer is responsible for paying them
- If the buyer doesn’t pay, or declines to pay, the item will be automatically returned to me without any further action required
- If an item is returned due to unpaid or declining to pay custom fees, I will process a refund of your item
- The refund will include deductions for the original cost of postage (proof of cost will be supplied), as well as for any damage to the item. This will be calculated and agreed with the buyer before the refund is processed.
- Shipping to buyers in the EU
