Roadside Amusement Park, Jordan

This seemingly abandoned Roadside Amusement Park in Jordan is small but colourful! While I was driving across the desert, I suspected that I saw something interesting through the gaps in the fence. Naturally, I swung the vehicle around for a second look. Sure enough, I happened to stumble upon a lost place! The amusement park appears to closed down somewhere in the neighbourhood of two years, as the grounds just in front of the rides have become littered with trash.

A group of stray dogs has made their home at the Roadside Amusement Park. During my brief visit, I saw at least two different litters of lovely pups. Rolling around and playing in the shade. The puppies were being carefully watched by their moms, who were keeping a wary eye on me the whole time. I chose to remain on the outer edge of the deserted amusement park in order to give the fluffy families room to roam about and go about their day.

COLOURFUL RIDES, FADED BY THE HOT JORDANIAN SUN

The bumper cars’ once-vibrant blue, yellow, and pink plastic has faded in the sun and become dull and cracked. They, like the rest of the rides at the park, are obviously intended for younger children due to their small size. It is not entirely clear to me how they were powered. The majority of bumper cars I’ve seen have a tall connecting rod at the rear, and they get their energy from the ceiling of the arena in which they compete. They might be battery-operated, but it’s also possible that you can push them with your hands.

Nearby is a swing carousel with a canopy of brilliant, bright colours. Swings in blue, green, and red hang from chains from this canopy. Whimsical elements, such as clown faces, lightning bolts, and stars, decorate the chair swing. In addition to that, there is a swing boat on the opposite side of the bumper cars. That ride that is decorated with rainbows and beautiful meadow scenes, hastily drawn with questionable artistic skills!
